Description
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for an experienced Lead Steel Detailer with Tekla experience to join our Lakewood, Colorado office. The successful candidate will act as a technical resource to other detailers, assist with training, participate in staff management and manage project modeling and detailing of structural steel fabrication drawings on both local and national projects.
The Lead Steel Detailer provides quality control by checking drawings and meets project deadlines and design budgets. The Lead Steel Detailer manages and directs projects from early detailing through construction and develops rapport and confidence with clients and coworkers through communication and quality work.

Examples Of Responsibilities
- Engage with clients as their primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
- Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using BIM.
- Act as a mentor and resource for staff regarding career development, detailing techniques, and software.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and detailing budgets.
- Facilitate the resolution of questions.
- Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years of total experience as a steel detailer or with a specialty contractor, with at least 2 years as a project manager, lead detailer or similar.
- High level of competency in Tekla modeling/detailing software.
- BS in engineering or construction management, AAS in Construction Technology or similar.
- Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from start of design to completion of construction

- Extensive experience with steel construction, including structural steel, miscellaneous metals and / or modular construction
- Effective at communicating and working with clients, jurisdictions, and colleagues
- Certification from NISD

- Demonstrates skill and a positive attitude in completing difficult assignments
