Overview
Part of the SATO team, you are a driving force behind securing access to safe sanitation for millions of people across the world. SATO is a social business whose purpose is to empower people everywhere to live a better life, every day, and to enjoy a brighter future through innovative sanitation and hygiene solutions.You will assist in designing and implementing affordable, sustainable and accessible products based on the specific wants and needs of customers.
Responsibilities
LIXIL, maker of pioneering water and housing products, announced the establishment of LIXIL Public Partners (LPP), the company's first dedicated public sector engagement platform in June 2022. This newly created organization will explore synergies and expanded collaboration with the public sector for the delivery of innovative household solutions in water, sanitation, and hygiene. LPP will develop business strategies and operating models designed to serve the mutual interests of global partners and LIXIL by introducing innovative products, solutions, and services for improved access to water, sanitation, and hygiene globally.
LPP is identifying a technology portfolio consisting of off-the-shelf, newly developed, and novel/prototype solutions for wastewater treatment and water recycling. The Leader, Product Engineering, will fill a critical role in leading the engineering of future LPP innovative products from inception and prototyping to mass manufacturability. This position requires skills in conceptual and hands-on development. This role will partner with LPP core cross-functional teams, LIXIL International R&D, and external technology partners.
Qualifications
Lead and oversee the entire technical and design operations to drive the commercialization of the innovative products for wastewater treatment and water recycling system.
Manage project timelines with an agile approach, by leveraging internal and external partners, from concept to pilot launch.
Leverage engineering knowledge and experience to support product design and production optimization.Technology landscape analysis and New technology Development.
Conduct continuous analysis of the technology landscape in the on-site sanitation technology area to anticipate and understand the impact on the value of LPP's products and services.
To ensure sustainable technological dominance, conduct new technology development and/or new external partner investigations.
Solve the issues related to engineering during field testing of developed products, and provide secure testing environments.
Lead continues quality improvement activities during the development and pilot phase.
University degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
More than 10 years of extensive working experience in Engineering, Product development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Demonstrated technical expertise in product development and project management, specifically in specifying MVP (minimum viable product) concepts and managing delivery through the stage gate process.
Ability to lead and contribute to technical design review including assessment of technical feasibility, design for manufacturability (DFM), and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.
Skill sets:
Leader with robust interpersonal/ networking skills and the ability to forge effective working relationships and foster a solution-oriented approach with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work under an agile mindset with fast-paced development, prototyping and testing
Analytical with a focus on problem-solving and structured approaches.
Ability to project manage complex processes and adapt to changing environments and feedback.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and facility to work comfortably and effectively across many different countries, cultures, situations.
Ability to be onsite two to three days a week in the New Jersey office. Working experiences with water purification, wastewater treatment systems Knowledge of CREO and/or other CAD and relevant technical software
Knowledge of variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability
QA, product validation, and international certification (FCC, CE, UL, etc...)

Hiring Range
The Hiring Salary Range for Piscataway, NJ is $88,000 to $156,000 annually.
(Salary offer to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
Other Compensation (if applicable): This role will be eligible to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive plan.
