Job Summary: The Leadership Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's leadership development strategy. This role involves creating and managing programs that improve leadership capabilities to grow our talent, and to deliver practical, relevant, leadership solutions that drive growth and value for all associates.
Principal Duties:
- Effectively lead and manage a leadership development team. Live Wawa's values in how you work with the team, including coaching, managing, and developing them to their highest potential. Maximize the output of the team in a caring way.
- Manage, refine, and embed Wawa's Leadership competency and skill framework to grow capability in leaders. Embed Wawa's enduring 6 core values by translating them into behaviors and streamlining the frameworks. Build out and continually refine the assessment strategy to align with the leadership competencies. Build a framework and roadmap for different audiences including various levels of leadership. Develop and define the governance involving leadership strategy.
- Elevate and drive Wawa's Servant Leadership philosophy and integrate into the employee value proposition (EVP) to become a leadership destination of choice. Develop and execute a multi-vehicle communication approach internally to keep the leadership conversation top of mind.
- Assess, design, develop and implement leadership coaching programs to increase individual and organizational performance. Oversee Wawa's portfolio of assessment tools for determining readiness of Director's and other leaders, executive recruiting, and on-going development.
- Facilitate leadership coaching programs, workshops, feedback sessions, etc. as required. Build positive and collaborative relationships with business leaders to position and drive smooth implementation and alignment of leadership coaching programs.
- Consult with People Team partners in order to continuously improve end to end leadership design practices.
- Serve as the leadership SME for the organization. Research and recommend best practices to develop and integrate leadership strategies. Stay current with external trends through benchmarking and research. Incorporate external best practices into Wawa and challenge thinking in the leadership space.
- Ensure quality and consistency of leadership assessments, metrics and measurements, and ensure alignment to the leadership strategy. Build and run assessments centers and other vehicles to help leaders and the organization have a more accurate view of role readiness, succession health, and bench strength.
- Ensure best in class experience for individual leaders including cultivating leader motivation and mindset, providing strong organizational support and opportunities for realization of career goals.
- Align leadership solutions to business objectives. Partner cross functionally with all senior business leaders to understand current and future learning needs.
- Manage a portfolio of leadership projects inclusive of governance, budgeting and execution. Plan and project future competency and leadership capability requirements needed to sustain rapid store growth in current and future markets.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree in Human Resources Development preferred
- 5+ years of experience in leadership development or related field
- Proven experience consulting and building strong relationships within HR and the business.
- Proven leadership, team building and mentoring skills, a proven track record of building, leading and working on teams, ability to coach both peers and direct reports effectively.
- Management and/or Human Resource discipline experience
- Experience in group instruction and/or presentation preferred
- Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills
