Role Summary/Purpose:
Development and deployment of a plant-wide lean culture, including Hoshin Kanri (strategy deployment), problem-solving, visual management, Lean process development, and Lean training. Reporting to the Lean Leader, Work under Lean Leader to establish a customer-based improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction, quality improvement, and cost reductions in line with business/functional objectives.

Role Summary/Purpose:
Development and deployment of a plant-wide lean culture, including Hoshin Kanri (strategy deployment), problem-solving, visual management, Lean process development, and Lean training. Reporting to the Lean Leader, Work under Lean Leader to establish a customer-based improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction, quality improvement, and cost reductions in line with business/functional objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the Lean vision and help implement a Lean strategy to reduce inventory, lead time, and waste.
- Assist with plant-wide training and deployment of practical problem-solving methodology.
- Assist in leading performance management reporting through Lean visual management methods to improve SQDC.
- Support early integration of Lean principles in product design & process development for New Product Introductions.
- Drive measurable improvements in lead-time, customer delivery, productivity, and inventory.
- Assist in developing value stream maps and process swim-lane charts to identify process improvement opportunities and make improvement through practical problem-solving.
- Establish and drive a Gemba walk methodology that drives cross-functional problem- solving on the shop floor.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of Lean performance management initiatives and reviews with the plant leadership team.
- Lead the design and creation of Lean creform stations, tables, carts, and tool trays.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing role)
- Experience with MRP data extraction, manipulation, and analysis in Excel
- Advanced Excel and statistical analysis skills with demonstrated experience in complex data parsing.
Desired Characteristics
- Prior Manufacturing Engineering and Lean Manufacturing experience in a high mix, low volume MRO environment highly desired.
- 2 years of experience with Lean Action Workouts (kaizen) or other strategic cross-functional Lean improvement activities.
- 2 years of experience in practical problem-solving methodology (RCCA).
- Strong (Lean) performance management skills - Daily/weekly/monthly operating reviews, KPI development & management.
- Experience in the application of key Lean principles - JIT, 5S, Jidoka, Standardization, Muda removal (8 wastes), continuous process flow, pull, heijunka, visual control, respect for people.
- Good oral and written communications and presentation skills - Meeting leadership, Microsoft PowerPoint and Teams.
