The Department of Medicine and the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Sinai Health System and the University Health Network in collaboration with the Department of Medicine and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto are seeking to recruit up to a maximum of 2 qualified full-time academic geriatricians with an academic position description of a Clinician in Quality & Innovation and a Clinician Teacher. Successful candidates would be hired through either the fully-affiliated Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network members Sinai Health System or the University Health Network. Successful candidates must be eligible for a Full-Time Clinical Academic Appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The effective start date of the appointments is September 2025, or a mutually agreeable date.

Successful candidates will provide exemplary patient-centred care and will be expected to participate in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs of the University of Toronto as appropriate.

For applicants being considered for appointment as a Clinician Teacher, excellence will be assessed by the presence of scholarly contributions to teaching and education as evidenced by teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, teaching awards, pedagogical innovation and curriculum development. For applicants being considered for appointment as a Clinician in Quality and Innovation, excellence will be assessed by advanced training in quality improvement or equivalent, successful quality improvement initiatives, evidence of practice and/or equipment innovations, and invitations to significant conferences, and accolades.

Successful candidates must hold an MD degree and have, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in Geriatric Medicine as well as have or be eligible for specialist geriatric medicine certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300,000-$350,000 per annum, including fees for service, and will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.
