We're looking for someone like this to:
provide legal advice and guidance on the design and operation of various compensation programs and employee benefits plans
manage and support regional and global projects relating to human resources, compensation, and benefits practices
partner with various functions within Human Resources, tax, compliance, and a range of business clients
learn employment law and provide employment legal advice and support on a range of issues across the Americas and globally
think strategically and assist with proactive management of legal risk

Your team
You'll be working in the Employment Legal - Reward and Strategic Litigation team and be in the New York Metropolitan area, Nashville or Raleigh. We're responsible for all compensation related employment legal issues and we support all of the UBS Business Divisions. So, you can be working on something for the Investment Bank in New York in the morning and for Wealth Management in Puerto Rico in the afternoon. You'll work within a team of lawyers (located in Nashville, Raleigh New York, Stamford and Weehawken) and be part of a global team (located in Zurich, London and Hong Kong).
Your expertise
ideally 3 - 5 years' experience practicing in government, private practice or in-house and some exposure to employment law
a law degree and are admitted to practice law in the U.S. state in which you are located (or ability to obtain in -house admission as necessary)
strong litigation experience and in particular exposure to FINRA or other arbitration forums
experience working with senior stakeholders on sensitive matters
excellent technical skills, sound critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiating skills, with the ability to apply those skills to a wide range of HR, regulatory, tax and other issues
self-motivation and capability of delivering solution-oriented, firm but fair, pragmatic, and risk-based advice
confident and authoritative with strong communication, advisory and negotiation skills
