- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to support the company's diverse legal needs. This role will work closely with the company and its brands on various legal matters in a global retail environment. The Legal Counsel will provide routine legal support and guidance on corporate and commercial matters, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, trade compliance, and procurement.

This position requires strong legal expertise, contract management skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks. The Legal Counsel will ensure compliance, mitigate legal risks, and provide a streamlined, business-focused legal experience aligned with the company value.
- The Legal Counsel will play a key role in protecting, supporting, and challenging internal stakeholders while managing legal risks. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a high volume of contracts, including influencer agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, technology agreements, procurement agreements, and other retail business contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
- Managing intellectual property (IP) matters and overseeing litigation and dispute resolution.
- Assisting in corporate governance matters and supervising external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitoring legal developments, conducting legal research and analysis, and ensuring the company stays ahead of statutory changes.
- Developing and implementing new policies, processes, and training programs based on legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Providing strategic, creative, and effective legal and business advice to balance risk with business objectives.
- Partnering with business units to integrate legal considerations into strategic planning.
- 10+ years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house role as corporate or commercial counsel, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, including senior management and internal clients at all levels.
- Exceptional time management, project management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to set long-term goals while remaining a collaborative team player.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and respect in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; member in good standing of at least one State Bar, preferably New York (or eligible for registration as In-House Counsel in New York).
- Strong working knowledge of the beauty and cosmetics industry is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a global organization is preferred.
- Experience in the beauty, cosmetics, or manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Korean is a strong advantage but not required.
