We are seeking a Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) for one of our Washington, DC offices. This position would provide support to a busy Office Managing Principal as well as other attorneys in our Transactional Finance Practice Group. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys providing executive assistant level support to help manage and organize the administrative work for attorneys.

The pay range for this position is $79,300 - $105,000. The pay range provided is in compliance with state, city, or local employment laws and applies to this location only. Actual pay for this position will be determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, current market data, and business needs.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position or sit for prolonged periods and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is frequently required to perform light work that includes lifting and moving objects up to 10 pounds.

Legal Practice Assistant Responsibilities:
- Manage attorney workloads and prioritize work to meet all deadlines.
- Manage calendars for multiple attorney's busy schedules including coordinating meetings with multiple clients and colleagues.
- Prepare complex documents including headers, footers, tables of content, data tables and red-lining documents.
- Prepare transactional finance and other legal documents, including public offering documents.
- Assemble closing documents and prepare closing binders
- Perform administrative tasks including opening new matters including initiating conflicts checks, entering attorney time, submitting invoices for payment, and working with our Finance Department to process client billing.
- Handle administrative tasks including preparing paper files for cases, filing paper correspondence in files, photocopying, scanning, and preparing mail and packages.
- Answer telephones and greet attorney guests.
- Operate office equipment including computer, photocopier and postage meter.
Legal Practice Assistant Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a law firm, real estate & transactional finance experience required.
- Experience opening client matters.
- Experience entering attorney time in LMS or similar time entry system preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other video conferencing software.
- Experience using a document management system, NetDocs a plus.
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, working collaboratively with others.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience using redline software, Litera, a plus.
