Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical skills : Essential for interpreting data and deriving insights for decision-making. This ability ensures that the candidate can effectively analyse complex data sets and provide actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity with analytics tools : Proficiency in tools such as Python, Alteryx, SPSS, SQL, etc., is required to handle data analysis tasks efficiently. Knowledge of business intelligence software like PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc., is also necessary for creating insightful visualizations and reports
  • Experience in product portfolio management : The candidate should have a proven track record in managing product portfolios, including assessing product performance, making investment decisions, and overseeing product architecture. This experience is crucial for leading strategic initiatives and ensuring the alignment of products with business goals
  • Strategic thinking : The ability to think strategically helps in identifying opportunities and threats, and in making informed decisions that benefit the organization
  • Excellent communication skills : Necessary for effectively conveying complex ideas and strategies to stakeholders at all levels. Strong communication skills ensure that the candidate can articulate their vision and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Project management experience : Experience in managing projects is desired as it ensures that the candidate can handle multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines


Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) preferred.

Responsibilities

As part of the 'Portfolio Management' function within Strategy & Innovation, the role is responsible for leading product portfolio assessments, investment case preparation and monitoring, and product architecture oversight.

  • Lead product portfolio assessments: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the product portfolios to identify where we are on terms of product lifecycle and to identify areas to prioritize higher growth opportunities
  • Prepare and monitor investment cases: Develop detailed investment cases for new and existing products, including financial projections, risk assessments, and strategic alignment. Monitor the performance of these investments to ensure they meet business objectives
  • Oversee product architecture: Ensure that product architecture aligns with strategic goals and supports scalability, innovation, and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance product architecture
  • Analyze data and derive insights: Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights for decision-making. Employ various analytics tools and business intelligence software to support data-driven strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with finance, business units, marketing, sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure alignment and successful execution of product portfolio strategies. Foster a collaborative environment to achieve shared goals
  • Communicate effectively: Articulate complex ideas and strategies to stakeholders at all levels. Ensure clear and concise communication to facilitate understanding and collaboration
  • Independent: The role requires a high level of autonomy, with the ability to make strategic decisions independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 - $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
