Our work with Navy Strategic Systems Program (SSP) is experiencing significant growth and we need experienced and passionate engineers to deliver integrated weapon systems that keep our customers ahead of ready.
The Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program is seeking a Staff Liaison Engineer located at the execution shipyard for the Zumwalt-class Guided Missile Destroyers (DDG) in Pascagoula, MS. This Shipyard Liaison Engineer will act as the onsite technical representative for the CPS program, coordinating in-yard activities with the customer (SSGC, PMS-500, and SPC), the broader LM CPS team, execution yard, planning yard, and other industry performers for the successful execution of CPS installation and integration on the three Zumwalt-class DDGs. The candidate will be engaged in all aspects of the CPS weapon system installation and integration (planning, execution, customer sell-off).
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, representing CPS at shipyard daily standups/production meetings, coordinate engineering and logistics engagements with the shipyard, facilitating detailed planning of installation and integration tasks with customers and shipyard, supporting hardware receipt/storage, supporting CPS installation and integration/test activities, and facilitating shipyard support tasks for CPS activities. The candidate will also work with the CPS platform integration team on all aspects of weapon system design and integration & test planning to ensure successful completion of the CPS installation on Zumwalt-class destroyers.
This is an opportunity for solving challenging problems, in a crucial, independent role that represents the CPS weapon system technical interests on-site with the shipyard executing Zumwalt-class modernization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, developing positive relationships with many external organizations, and participating in tasks across many engineering disciplines.
Preference for this requisition will be given to Space employees.

Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in an in-yard leadership role on US Navy surface or subsurface construction, modernization, or sustainment.
Demonstrated role interacting with US Navy fleet organizations responsible for ship construction, modernization, or sustainment (SUPSHIP, PMS-XXX, TYCOM, NSWCs, etc.)
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance.
Desired skills
Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years previous professional experience in an engineering or technology development environment.
Technical background in areas of surface and/or subsurface vessel platform construction, integration, or modernization
Experience with US Navy Alteration Installation Team (AIT) processes and requirements.
Experience communicating technical subjects with customers and program leadership positions.
Demonstrated experience with a weapon system or missile development program.
Familiarity with US Navy shipboard build, test, and certification requirements.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $86,700 - $166,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
