Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Library hours of operation are Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, and Thursday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The schedule includes days, one evening per week, and rotating Saturdays. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
Starting Salary Range:
$82,777.50 - 96,905.25 / annually
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
Prince William County Government offers medical plans with corresponding pharmacy and basic vision coverage, as well as dental plans and a separate vision plan.
Full-time and part-time Prince William County Government employees are eligible to participate in our plans; however, the level and cost of benefits depends on the classification of the position.

About This Role:
- Supports daily operations by overseeing staff scheduling, training, and supervision to ensure smooth and efficient library services.
- Delivers outstanding customer service by managing patron account issues, overseeing circulation operations, and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment at the service desk.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and elevate service quality.
- Oversees cash handling training and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with county policies and procedures.
- Works closely with the Information team to oversee collection maintenance, ensuring materials align with community needs and usage trends.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of experience in library systems operations.
Preferences:
- Public Library experience
- Experience with cash handling and maintaining related business and financial records.
- Experience supervising volunteers
- Experience with supervisory duties, such as hiring, training, conducting performance evaluations, and the disciplinary process.
- Experience providing excellent customer service at an integrated service desk.
- Proficiency with library management software and other relevant technologies.
- Experience with collaboration and team building skills.
