Hafer is seeking a Lead Healthcare Architect to lead the healthcare design in the Evansville, IN, studio. This role involves managing client relationships, overseeing projects from design through construction administration, and expanding the regional portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare architecture and a commitment to delivering high-quality design.
With appropriate qualifications, the offer for this role may include a designated plan to shareholder status in the firm.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:
While focusing on excellent design and document quality, supervise, direct, and properly sequence the activities of a project team, including all design disciplines and consultants during all project phases
Participate in and develop technical drawings and specifications mark-ups for Project Architects, Draftspersons, and emerging architectural graduates to execute.
Establish design budgets and schedules to meet deadlines
Creatively contribute to the resolution of design or construction questions
Direct the creation of presentation documents and lead client meetings
Cultivate positive client relationships while working on their projects with a focus on client satisfaction
Manage projects from conceptual design through construction administration with the support of internal team members in Evansville, IN, and across the organization
Work closely with the office leadership to expand the regional portfolio
Observe construction progress and provide construction administration services
Display knowledge of industry standards and an understanding of building codes, industry trends, building structures, and architectural advancements
Requirements
9+ years of experience in architecture.
5+ years of healthcare experience.
Accredited (NAAB) Bachelor's degree in Architecture and/or Master of Architecture degree
Licensed Architect in the state of Indiana or ability to be a registered Architect in the state of Indiana.
Ability to cultivate client relationships and project opportunities.
Confident and effective interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to develop project fees, manage project budgets, and review client/consultant invoices, agreements, and contracts.
Knowledge of local and healthcare code requirements and ability to efficiently interface with agencies having jurisdiction.
Ability to review and assure document accuracy for client(s), consultant(s) and project team(s).
Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe programs, and other communication-oriented software programs. Revit, AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required.
