Responsibilities and Duties:
- Systems & HPC Cluster Administration & Support (~40-50% of position)
- Manage a Linux based cluster computing environment - two 500 core and growing Linux HPC clusters using OpenPBS job scheduler and Ansys RSM
- Build a third cluster 500+ core Linux HPC cluster
- Maintain & develop a custom HPC job status website (built using Tomcat, PHP, CGI, HTML)
- Develop reporting capabilities for HPC cluster usage and utilization
- Support 50+ engineers using HPC clusters with Ansys software
- Ansys Licensing and Installation Technical Support (~40% of position)
- Provide high-quality email and phone support to external customers
- Troubleshoot both basic and complex Ansys-related issues, gather/review diagnostic logs, escalate to and work with Ansys direct as needed.
- Create Knowledge Base articles for our public-facing Knowledge Base

- IT Help Desk Support (~10% of position)
- Support & troubleshoot all common user hardware and software questions and issues for internal users in Windows & M365 environments.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience or equivalent education / IT certifications
- Strong understanding and experience configuring maintaining Linux OSs (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Ability to troubleshoot advanced Linux software, hardware, and network problems efficiently and effectively
- Windows Server Administration
- Support & troubleshoot all common and desktop applications within a Windows and M365 environment
- Bash Scripting
- Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn CGI Scripting, HTML, PHP
- Comprehensive documentation of complex systems
Desired Experience
- InfiniBand and RoCE Networking
- OpenPBS, Slurm HPC job schedulers or related technology
- Industry Certifications or Memberships
- Computer hardware performance benchmarking and tuning experience
- Ansys Software, Ansys Remote Solver Manger
- FlexLM License Manager
- Use of WinBind and SSSD with Windows Active Directory
