Shift: Day shift - Occasional off shift, extended, or weekend support may be required.
Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

Description of Duties:
The Linux System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
Research technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure systems operate efficiently.
Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions.
Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed.
Perform vulnerability remediation and mitigations to include hardening of operating systems and STIG compliance
Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts.
Collaborate and communicate with internal and external team members and customers as needed.
Identify developer-documentation errors and provide to appropriate channels / personnel for correction.
Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems.
Occasional off shift, extended, or weekend support may be required.
Occasional local travel may be required to support off-site customers and projects.

Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 6 years of general experience, Bachelor's degree and 4 years of general experience, or a Master's degree and 2 years of general experience
Must have 5 years of related experience in business systems, operating systems, and servers and/or experience in light programming, project management of small initiatives, and troubleshooting
Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems using VMware
Must have administration/ troubleshooting experience on RHEL 7 and 8 using Command Line Interface
Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE
Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
Have experience working with Ansible automation
Have experience configuring and managing Network storage devices
Have network troubleshooting experience
Have experience implementing Multi Factor Authentication methodology
Have experience with HP server hardware
Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
Degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline
This position is expected to pay $89,500 - $114,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
