Job Description: System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. Job Responsibilities: * Provide IT systems administration of RedHat Enterprise Linux environments. * Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. * Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. * Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS). * Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. * Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
* Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. * Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. * Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 5% travel. * Full time 100% Onsite position.
Required Skills: * Typically requires bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a masters degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience. * Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems. * Must have Linux experience. * Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND. * Must have experience administering Red Hat Linux based systems. * Must have scripting experience.
Desired Skills: * Experience with patching, creating/maintaining RPM packages. * Experience with performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security hardening. * Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket). * Experience with Jenkins automation. * Configuration of Scanning tools Nessus/McAfee. * Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS and LDAP. * Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency. * Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.
