Job Description: The Literacy Instructional Coach provides instructional coaching and teacher leadership in the area of literacy within Mary T. Murphy School. The coach also serves as a representative on the district leadership team.
Supervision received:Current Connecticut certifications required: Reading certification preferred (097 or 102); Related elementary teaching endorsement Minimum 5 years successful elementary teaching experience Proven history of effective classroom teaching and/or coaching experience Experience in multiple elementary grade levels preferred
Salary per Branford Education Association Contract:
$55,139 - 107,728 pending degree level

Literacy Instructional Coach, Kindergarten - Grade 4
Job Description: The Literacy Instructional Coach provides instructional coaching and teacher leadership in the area of literacy within Mary T. Murphy School. The coach also serves as a representative on the district leadership team.
Supervision received:
- Reports to the Director of Elementary Education and Building Principal
- Collaborate with teachers in identifying specific learning goals, as well as the strategies needed to meet those goals across all areas of literacy instruction.
- Analyze student performance data to guide coaching efforts and provide targeted support to teachers.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with teachers and foster a collaborative environment where teachers feel safe to share challenges and seek help.
- Plan, deliver, and/or organize professional learning for teachers that is relevant, practical, and directly tied to classroom practice.
- Provide colleagues with constructive feedback and encourage self-reflection among teachers to help improve their instructional strategies and adapt to student needs.
- Provide tailored support to meet the specific needs of individual teachers.
- Be well-versed in various instructional strategies and be able to model or demonstrate these strategies in the classroom.
- Engage in continuous professional learning that is relevant, practical, and directly tied to classroom practice or instructional coaching.
Salary per Branford Education Association Contract:
$55,139 - 107,728 pending degree level
