The Firm is headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota with offices in Arizona, California, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Its practice is focused on the development of attorneys' litigation skills, strategies and industry knowledge.

JOB SUMMARY Gurstel is looking for entrepreneurial business attorneys looking for an alternative to a solo or big firm practice. Portable book of business preferred. As a Litigation Associate Attorney, you will be working the Firm's existing book of business clients in the State of Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare pleadings and ancillary correspondence for all phases of litigation.
  • Conduct motion practice and attend court when required during the litigation lifecycle.
  • Effectively and responsively communicate with Firm clients, opposing counsel, opposing parties, and court staff.
  • Conduct legal research required to make successful legal arguments and recommendations to Firm clients.
  • Document account/file activity in accordance with Firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current and well-informed of any local, state or federal changes in the law, rules of court or court procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to administration staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 5+ years of litigation experience.
  • Portable book of business preferred
  • In good standing and qualified to practice law in the State of Minnesota.
  • Ability to work independently, but able to collaborate when needed.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Possesses a collaborative disposition.
  • Superior time management skills who is adept at managing priorities to meet business requirements and deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent client written and oral communication skills.

TRAVEL - This position requires travel to courts if needed.

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based bonus and commission.

Salary Range

$90,000 - $110,000
