Position Summary
Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is seeking a Locum Obstetrician-Gynaecologist to join our team for a four-month term from September 1 to December 31, 2025. Located in the scenic Simcoe-Muskoka region of Ontario, OSMH is a Level 2C obstetrical centre with a Level 2C nursery, providing comprehensive care to our community.
Position Highlights
On-Call Coverage: Provide 24-hour on-call services for obstetrical and gynaecological emergencies once per week.
Clinical Practice: Conduct outpatient clinics focusing on obstetrics, gynaecology, and follow-up care in a newly renovated, spacious facility shared with four OBGYN colleagues.
Colposcopy Services: Perform one colposcopy day per month.
Surgical Opportunities: Operate one day per month in the OR, with potential for additional surgical time as needed.

REMUNERATION:

In-Patient:
Consultations for OSMH credentialed staff and regional partners
MRP care for inpatients including admission, peri-operative management and discharge
Participation and cooperation as a contributing team member
Administrative and Quality:
Participation in strategic planning and program development of OB/GYN services.
Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities related to obstetrical and surgical care.
Participation in hospital committees pertaining to specialty and as required by the credentialed staff by-laws.
Active participation in working towards the OSMH length of stay (LOS) target benchmark at the 25th percentile of Ontario Hospitals.
Efficient use of resources.
Qualifications
Education:
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfil the requirements of this position.
Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
U.S.-trained doctors holding American Board certification are eligible to gain licensure with CPSO without certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RSPSC). Pathway A policy permits eligble specialists to be issued a restricted certificate of registration to practice independently limited to their scope of practice without requiring RCPSC.
