We have an immediate need for a Logistics Consultant at our aerospace location in Rockford, IL. The primary focus of this role is to provide Logistics expertise and guidance to the customer team, while providing financial knowledge to ensure costs are aligned with expectations for all logistics aspects.
  • The logistics support position provides a great level of logistics consulting and knowledge to the transportation & shipping, and all freight departments
  • Advise on special warehousing needs for business enterprises
  • Improve and implement processes for cost savings and efficiency
  • SAP experience with GL and Accounting accuracy
  • Shipping and Freight Cost Data Analysis and reconciliation
  • Consult with transportation and shipping departments
  • Analyze freight payments and provide freight claim liability and procedures to internal users
  • Advise and arrange heavy hauls i.e. flatbed truck loads, ocean freight etc...


Work Experience
  • 8 plus years of Fleet Management experience required
  • 8 plus years of Freight Management experience required
  • 8 plus years of Warehousing Management required
  • 8 plus years of Logistics and cost analysis including freight/shipping and freight loss or damage,
  • Freight charges and payment analytical skills required
  • SAP experience in general ledger preferred
  • Due to the nature of the work, you must be a US Citizen

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
  • Typical 40 hours weeks plus lunch / core (required) hours / General shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
