Machinist & Welding Production Manager - Full Time - Houston (TX), United States

We are looking for a/an Machinist & Welding Production Manager to join our Services_AME team in United States .

Your main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Support upper management to achieve organizational, business, and production targets
  • Provide daily production updates of machine shop/weld shop/NDE and backlog list to increase production oversight
  • Responsible for shop personnel ADP overview/ approvals
  • Participate in employees mid year / end of year evaluations
  • Oversee production of PTA machine
    • Work with RE/RCs to stablish a by size standardize costing sheet
  • Maintain machine shop maintenance plans
  • Maintain stable management skills
    • Escalate discipline activities
  • Work hours from 5am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • Support shop production on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as required to meet production needs
  • Attend daily production/accountability meeting
  • Attend job kick-offs and perform the following
    • Review work orders and prints to ensure they are correct and accurate and meet repair processes efficiently
    • Assist with technical questions on all pumps and working jobs
    • Job box visits
  • Participate in repair dispositions
  • Oversee jobs to assure they are going smoothly
  • Advise on scheduling and hours to complete jobs
  • Work with Engineering on designs, drawings and corrections on building materials and subpar prints
  • Assist management for continual shop improvement, 5S & CAPX projects
    • Personnel training
    • Tooling design
    • Documentation
    • Process
  • Attend overhead meeting to discuss OPX & CAPX
  • Support training, work with employees to ensure they get proper hands-on training
    • Log site specific training on employees for Supervisor/Shop Annual Review
  • Re-work training for all shop employees and RE's to ensure awareness of potential issues and NCR's
    • Attend monthly quality meeting to discuss NCR resolutions
  • Assign weekly shop chore board pre-established assignments
  • Submit / track shop requisitions


To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in related environment, preferably working with pumps
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
