The Mainframe Programmer Analyst is the technical engine for development and maintenance of multiple programs using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM.
Experience with design, and development using various versions of .NET Framework and languages like C#.NET, VB.NET and Web Technologies like ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC 4/5 is a plus (NOT REQUIRED)
The Programmer's current focus/workload includes but is not limited to:
Writes, corrects, and makes modifications to various OIT supported applications across many programming languages and platforms.
Works effectively with OIT customers to learn specific design requirements and perform analysis and design of computer applications.
Acts as a technical liaison between information technology staff and internal and external customers.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively
Analyzes, interprets, and presents technology solutions to prepare design specifications in a technically acceptable and cost-effective manner
Conducts analyses, interprets research findings, conceives a variety of solutions to functional problems, and reduces abstract ideas to easily understand procedures
Develops logical code for efficient program execution.
Produces written technical documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND
five years of programming experience
Knowledge of COBOL, DB2, JCL, Utilities, and DEBUG
Ability to think analytically
Ability to work independently
