What this job involves -

You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, manage maintenance projects, and ensure the efficient operation of building systems. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What is your day to day?

Team Leadership and Management
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient coverage of all maintenance needs.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering skill development and career growth.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss projects, safety concerns, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.


Maintenance Operations
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for various building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Coordinate and prioritize reactive maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building automation systems.


Project Management
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance projects, including renovations and system upgrades.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Prepare reports on project status, maintenance activities, and key performance indicators.


Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and certifications.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
  • Lead safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.


Desired experience and technical skills

Required
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in project management and budget administration.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.


Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Various trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, Electrical).


Estimated total compensation for this position:

85,000.00 - 95,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
