Maintenance Manager at a Leading Equipment Manufacturer

With recent expansions driven by increased business, we're seeking a visionary Maintenance Manager to lead our department to new heights. This role offers the unique opportunity to rebuild, organize, develop, and enhance our maintenance operations.

Position Summary:As our Maintenance Manager, you'll spearhead the development of systems, process improvements, facility layouts, installations, and capital projects. Leading a team across two shifts, you'll be both strategic and hands-on, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our maintenance operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily repairs and activities to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient line operation that prioritizes quality, safety, service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coach and develop maintenance team members to enhance both people and equipment efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize plant layouts and facility utilization.
  • Design, develop, and test machinery/equipment, adhering to engineering principles.
  • Safely integrate new machines, processes, and tools into operations.
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to layout manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of studies, facilities, and equipment designs.
  • Employ formal problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Support capital projects requiring new equipment or structures.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegreepreferred, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Operations Management.
  • 5-10+ years of manufacturing maintenance leadership experience.
  • Extensive background in manufacturing, preferably in metal fabrication or related industries.
  • Proficiency in preventative maintenance software, with implementation experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement principles such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to deliver results, prioritize tasks, and manage conflict effectively.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including MS Excel, ERP, and ideally SAP.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including the ability to troubleshoot and teach others.
  • Experience reading schematics and blueprints; PLC programming skills are a plus.
