About the Role:
The Maintenance Manager's objective is to supervise and maintain the proper working order, operation, and appearance of all related feed manufacturing equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising installation, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs of machinery, equipment and physical plant of the production facilities while keeping Team Member safety prioritized. This position requires the manager to be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill, and public image.

This position has the authority to stop production and delivery for quality, feed safety or occupational/employee safety issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
This position has the authority to stop production and delivery for quality, feed safety or occupational/employee safety issues.
- You are responsible for controlling the total maintenance of the equipment and facilities
- You arrange for, and manage, appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed
- You supervise and coordinate the work of employees who repair and maintain building, facilities, equipment, and machinery
- You prepare and document records, work orders, requisitions for parts, daily log sheets, and other written papers as required.
- As a Qualified Individual under the FSMA rule, you apply the training provided on the principles of animal food hygiene and safety relative to the company's Food Safety Plan by following implemented protocols, policies, procedures and controls.
- You maintain and maximize efficiency for production rate and reliability for all equipment
The Right Candidate:
- Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Knowledgeable in all phases of building maintenance
- Comfortable leading the work planning and execution efforts of an 8 to 10-member team
- Have a mindset for safety and are comfortable leading and enforcing safe work practices
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam and HVAC systems
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies
- Ability to drive long term strategies and objectives within the maintenance group while staying engaged in the immediate demands of the plant
- Strong, professional communication skills
- Willing to exercise schedule flexibility as the demands of the plant require
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints, part diagrams and process flow charts
