ABOUT THE ROLE . . .

The Maintenance Manager plans and directs the functions of the Maintenance department in a productive, safe, efficient manner. To ensure both long term and short term company goals are met and the integrity of the physical facility assets are maintained and enhanced as required. The Maintenance Manager is directly responsible for all facility physical assets (equipment, building, grounds), encompassing their continued upkeep as well as alterations, improvements, and maintaining budgets as well as additions to the existing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Direct safety and health efforts by planning, organizing, and controlling to meet safety goals and ensure a healthy workplace.
  • Ensure the preservation and enhancement of the plant's mechanical and electrical systems and the various components of those systems, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all maintenance projects.
  • Provide expertise and experience in problem solving and determine potential problems with existing systems, operations and equipment.
  • Implement plant technical strategies and tactics focused on maintenance, and plant improvement programs that advance plant performance, such as utilizing labor efficiencies in accordance with the operating budget.
  • Develop, and operate within, the maintenance budget so as to control costs of direct labor, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate with other managers and executives in long-range planning and overall management of the plant in accordance with plant and corporate directives. Consult with other managers on quality standards, production control, workplace safety, and human resource issues.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate engineering staff to ensure that all environmental requirements are satisfied.
  • Select, develop, and motivate direct reports to effectively perform their respective job functions with a focus on workplace safety, product quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and department goals. Ensure proper departmental training so that assigned personnel perform to established standards and assure management succession.
  • Ensure that all direct reports properly implement the terms of the labor agreement, to promote the efficient, economical and profitable operation of the company.

  • EXPERIENCE WE NEED FROM YOU . . .
    • B.S. degree in engineering (ME, EE) preferred, with 10-15 years plus maintenance and supervisory experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
    • Effective maintenance management experience.
    • Effective capital improvement experience.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong computer application skills.

    Salary Description

    130k - 160k annually plus bonus incentives
