Job Summary:
As the Plant Maintenance Manager, you will oversee preventive and reactive maintenance operations essential for our manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities include managing and auditing PM schedules, ensuring timely repairs to maximize production, and maintaining a robust spare parts inventory. This role requires supervising a team of Maintenance Technicians and offers flexibility with a commitment of 40+ hours per week, occasional weekends, and on-call duties. You will report directly to the Production/Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Lead diagnostics and repairs on machinery and control systems, including corrugators, dies, AC/DC motors & drives, chillers, and more.
- Daily Operations: Implement and oversee daily management initiatives.
- Parts Management: Liaise with suppliers to order and specify replacement parts and control components as needed.
- CMMS Oversight: Manage the maintenance department's CMMS to ensure "on time" completion of tasks and regulatory compliance.
- Team Coordination: Direct first responders in troubleshooting efforts and engage Electrical Engineering when additional expertise is required.
- Staff Development: Build and enhance job skills through training programs and cross-training initiatives for all maintenance staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to boost production efficiency and safety.
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate facility asset listing.
- Capital Projects: Identify opportunities for capital investments and support the development of business cases.
- Work Management: Plan, schedule, and audit preventive and repair work orders to streamline work processes.
- Collaborative Projects: Participate in and lead initiatives with the Plant Service Team.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of electrical test equipment (voltmeter, ammeter, ohm meter, megger, etc.)
- Comprehensive understanding of machine functions and production operation sequences
- Proficient in reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes
- Expertise in Lock Out Tag Out procedures, arc flash protocols, and PPE requirements
- Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Excellent leadership, time management, and task prioritization abilities
- Proficiency in electrical formulas and mechanical math
- Experience with three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution
- Hands-on experience with AC & DC drive/motor preventive maintenance, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O systems and network issues
- Experience with motion training on servo drives and motors
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with plant personnel, vendors, and company stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Expertise in root cause analysis and problem solving
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance management is preferred
Educational Requirements:
- AA or BS in Engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering
