Rack & Riddle Custom Wine Services, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the United States, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to add to our team.

The Maintenance Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to management of all shop staff, ensuring efficient utilization of all winery equipment, and coordination with other Managers throughout organization for proper repairs and maintenance to all winery and Bottling Line equipment. There is a focus of preventative maintenance leadership in this position. Work site will primarily be our Healdsburg location but will include travel to any of our other locations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manages the day-to-day workflow of Maintenance team members including time, attendance, work schedules, breaks and lunches in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with labor planning needs for the maintenance department.
  • Responsible for personnel management, hiring, training, development, evaluations and discipline within the Maintenance Department.
  • Develops a cohesive team through interpersonal skills and leading by example.
  • Manages and implements the required training of team and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Manages and ensures adherence to Company policies and standards.
  • Ensures smooth and effective shift turnovers.
  • Facilitates the development of an empowered work team and mentors team members.
  • Facilitates a safety culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Ability to have a hands-on approach to the maintenance work performed on a daily basis.
  • In addition to being able to direct and manage maintenance personnel, must have the ability to perform a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and modify mechanical equipment and facilities.
  • Manage work orders through the work order system.
  • Supervise installation of new equipment.
  • Interact with vendors and assist in the correct ordering of parts to support maintenance work orders.
  • Put together PM schedule for all line equipment with audit document sheets and signoffs and ensure adherence to that schedule.
  • Oversee maintenance of production equipment, buildings, utilities, forklifts, vehicles, and refrigeration equipment (this includes our three bottling lines).
  • Plan jobs, projects and equipment for repair and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with other department leaders and works to solve problems.
  • Effectively present topics to a group audience of direct reports, peers or upper management.
  • Adhere to and provides input on the department budget.
  • Implement and monitor systems and programs in a cost-effective manner.
  • Code invoices for timely payment.
  • Accountable for understanding and ensuring compliance with GMP procedures.
  • Communicate effectively through email, phone or face-to-face.
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety Programs.
  • Complete special projects as directed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.


Requirements

The successful candidate's background includes:
  • Technical or College degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment (winemaking industry preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a role with the responsibility of supervision of staff.
  • Experience and working knowledge of electrical systems and glycol systems preferred.
  • 3+ Years' experience with maintenance management on bottling or automated processing lines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to maintain a clean DMV record.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Other tasks as assigned by Management.

  • Proactive in problem-solving.
  • Work independently without Supervision, as well as part of large groups and teams.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
  • Requires skilled knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry tools, procedures and safety.
  • Ability to maintain moderate to physical work in a variety of environments.
