Description:

Plan and schedule both routine and non-routine maintenance work for assets of the department including maintenance shutdowns;
Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work
Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
Assist with planning and implementing department improvements and expansions
Monitor operation of stock prep equipment and systems
Establish and maintain a maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of equipment;
Coordinate with spare parts department to ensure supply for shutdown and day to day are available;
Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems
Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
Ensure city, province, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times
Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance
Develop and implement structured preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Prepare budget for each fiscal year and recommend any equipment upgrades/needs
Perform other tasks or jobs as needed or required

Qualifications:
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional preferred
Experience working in a Paper Mill and/or manufacturing environment
Minimum 5-10 years' experience
Demonstrated leadership skills, including lead by example management style and a passion for improving processes
Superior knowledge of and commitment to safety
Committed to ongoing continuous improvement and quality
Experience with maintenance control systems, spare parts procurement and purchasing processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
