Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director, Fixed Asset Maintenance, the Manager, FAMIAC will oversee the evaluation and monitoring of rail infrastructure assets to ensure their continued reliability, safety, and performance. This role will focus on assessing asset conditions, managing risks, and making strategic decisions to optimize rail asset performance and longevity in support of the ONxpress Operations as part of the GO Expansion - On-Corridor Works package.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct regular inspections and assessments of Rail System and Facility Fixed Assets.
Evaluate the condition of each asset based on established criteria (e.g., wear and tear, structural integrity, safety compliance).
Assess asset health utilizing data from inspections, sensors, and historical records.
Identify potential risks associated with asset deterioration or failure.
Prioritize assets based on risk levels and criticality.
Develop risk mitigation strategies (e.g., maintenance, repair, replacement).
Maintain accurate records of asset conditions, inspection results, and maintenance activities.
Track asset performance and history utilizing asset management software and databases.
Collaborate with engineering teams, maintenance crews, and other stakeholders.
Make informed decisions about maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacements.
Balance cost considerations with safety and performance requirements.
Develop long-term plans for asset maintenance, renewal, and replacement.
Consider the entire lifecycle of assets, including expected lifespan and future needs.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
Stay informed about technological advancements and best practices in asset management.
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements
Work inside and outside, subject to variations in outdoor weather conditions. This includes nightshift work to observe construction during minimum train revenue movement.
Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to navigate around a site and wear necessary safety equipment, in a track environment.
Travel may be required. This could involve the ability to drive or travel by other means, and potentially walking or standing for extended periods of time.

Education & Experience
Completion of a degree in Engineering, or related field - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of railroad systems, including all related Fixed Assets and components.
Experience in different phases of engineering design lifecycle (CDR, PDR, FDR) and familiarity with Systems.

Required Skills
Must be able to obtain Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certification.
Possess a valid G driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
Asset Management qualification is considered an asset.
Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) or Project Management certification considered an asset.
