Job Summary

Responsible for managing one or more processes that directly impacts reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of the Energy Supply generating facilities and its employees. Responsible for setting performance targets, developing relative action plans, managing process change initiatives and achieving results in order to meet the short- and long-term goals of Energy Supply. A leader for the Technical Department Group in the processes of plant heat rate/efficiency, renewable and energy storage asset availability, analysis and minimization of asset forced outages and derates, managing forced and maintenance outages, analyzing and maintaining the long-term equipment reliability ( LTER ) plan, supporting plant/site operations and maintenance and managing plant/site O & M and capital improvement projects. Leads engineers, technicians, and process improvement team members from either a plant/site staff level position or in a central staff, matrixed function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Communicates and coordinates with plant/renewable and energy storage management and other groups in setting goals, targets, and priorities for reliability and efficiency.
  • Develops and implements strategies to monitor and improve plant and employee reliability, efficiency and employee effectiveness. Facilitates and champions the projects and efforts that are necessary to accomplish these strategies.
  • Develops and tracks group technical budget.
  • Lead central and matrixed employees in their efforts to analyze, test, and monitor plant/site processes and events.
  • Leads plant/site level efforts implementing continuous improvement initiatives including training, tools, utilization, project plan development, execution and follow up.
  • Manages the plant/site Corrective Action process.
  • Plant/site staff function, leads headquartered employees in their efforts to analyze, test and monitor plant processes and events. At the plant/site, this position is also responsible for heading up the Continuous Improvement effort for the plant/site.
  • Execution of general management duties including the ability to listen, build strong relationships, prioritize and manage tasks, set challenging goals, motivate and provide leadership, build commitment, make decisions and understand the impact of those decisions, and providing feedback, coaching and mentoring of employees.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline.
  • Three years of supervisory experience and ten years of power generation experience including knowledge of project management and outage management.
  • Two years minimum using continuous improvement (CI) tools and experience managing projects.


Other Qualifications

Preferred
  • Plant/site maintenance and operations experience


Other Requirements
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • P3M, PI proficient within the first six months.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Engineering drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
  • Competencies: Project management, outage management, operations, budgeting or career trek competencies of power generation and/or related support organizations.
  • Experience in directly leading and supervising represented and non represented employees.
  • Proficient in the use of corrective action programs and the Gallup Survey process within the first 6 months.
  • Understanding of safety, environmental, NERC and other regulatory compliance activities.
