About the team and position
We're looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join a rapidly growing organization. This individual will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and managing a growing accounts payable team. You will also facilitate the relationship between the accounting and accounts payable departments, ensuring that accounts payable functions are performed timely and accurately to support accounting efforts. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.

About the team and position
We're looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join a rapidly growing organization. This individual will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and managing a growing accounts payable team. You will also facilitate the relationship between the accounting and accounts payable departments, ensuring that accounts payable functions are performed timely and accurately to support accounting efforts. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.
What you'll be doing
- Manages Accounts Payable, including Customer Vendor Relations, and the AP disbursement group which handles all check disbursements, credit card payments, wires and ACH payments.
- Manages accounting functions including accounts payable subledger. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of payments to vendors and recording of financial data.
- Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Understands the details of complex transactions and can discuss potential accounting implications.
- Demonstrates ability to identify key milestones for various projects, assign team members to such milestones, and monitor through completion while updating management to any deviations to established timelines.
- Demonstrates abilities to enable team leads and staff to provide solutions, and show the flexibility to appropriately consider those solutions and make a final decision.
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple staff and team leads and continually provides both formal and informal coaching and feedback to people on the team.
- Selects and hires employees for the accounts payable team.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effective feedback upward to help management better manage the team.
- Serves as the key team member over accounts payable, and is the person that other departments reach out to first to obtain information or provide information.
What you should know/have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience included
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software such as Oracle, Coupa and Peoplesoft
- Must have AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with team members and management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
- Experience with multilocational teams, outsourced teams
