As aManager Application Development, you will coordinate workload, equipment maintenance, and equipment calibration, as well as manage the sample stream, new product test protocols and application testing, to deliver accurate and valid results and to make sure customers' requirements are met. Manage the acquisition, installation and training of new equipment, systems, methods and resources as well as conduct HSE tests to ensure compliance. First level of supervision.

As aManager Application Development, you will coordinate workload, equipment maintenance, and equipment calibration, as well as manage the sample stream, new product test protocols and application testing, to deliver accurate and valid results and to make sure customers' requirements are met. Manage the acquisition, installation and training of new equipment, systems, methods and resources as well as conduct HSE tests to ensure compliance. First level of supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day resources, equipment, and manpower economically to achieve the best practical throughput of test work and ensure valid, accurate results are produced in line with the Sibelco laboratory handbook.
- Ensure adherence to the Safety standards and housekeeping 5S procedures
- Develop standard analysis methods/procedures in case of new equipment
- Ensure adequate training is provided and test procedures are maintained and adhered to Coordinate calibration and servicing of instrumentation to ensure valid results and timely results
- Advise on test requirements and procedures and assess the validity of results produced
- Initiate continuous improvement within the laboratory
- Strive for excellence (i.e. balance between quality and cost)
Qualifications
- At least a Master's degree in Engineering with Chemistry, or a Master's degree in Materials Science.
- At least 3 years of management experience at a senior level, preferably within a laboratory environment
- Substantial experience in a commercial laboratory environment.
