Triacta Power Solutions www.triacta.com(a Division of Metergy Solutions Inc.) designs and manufactures high-end, revenue grade electrical meters for multi-unit commercial, institutional and residential sub-metering, energy management and M&V applications.

Role Overview:

This position would be responsible for the safe, efficient and high quality operations of two separate areas of the business: Software Load & Calibration and the Meter Shop.

The Software Load & Calibration team loads the software and then calibrates semi-finished electrical submeters and other related equipment. The team also manages any faulty meters returned by customers. The Meter Shop team is part of a soon to be launched new business for Triacta. The team will seal meters as per Measurement Canada requirements and accreditation. Sealing a meter means that the meter can be used to charge customers for the electricity that they consume.

This position would be directly responsible for leading both teams, meeting all regulatory and internal quality requirements and on-going improvement.

Accountabilities:
    • Fulfill routine and complex production requirements and adjust where required to accommodate shifting priorities.
    • Manage both Software Load & Calibration and Meter Shop operations including maintenance and calibration of electrical test consoles, upkeep of quality records, and all activities in adherence with Quality Management System.
    • Operate and maintain meter equipment to conduct final testing, verification and reverification of meters and sub-metering systems as per Measurement Canada administrated laws and regulations.
    • Own and manage the hiring process of new meter lab and equipment assembly/test personnel as required to maintain operational continuity, and/or to facilitate business expansion.
    • Manage and adequately train meter lab and equipment assembly/test personnel in their daily tasks and activities.
    • Lead meter lab expansion of scope initiatives through planning, research and execution of new equipment procurement, work instruction development and Measurement Canada certification.
    • Maintain positive professional interaction with Measurement Canada inspectors and auditors as well as other regulatory bodies (ex: UL).
    • Provide technical guidance as required to other departments.
    • Continuously seek out, introduce and lead improvements in operations by maintaining awareness of new trends and developments in the metering field.
    • Continually keep abreast of Electricity and Gas Inspection Act Laws and Regulations.
    • Maintain and promote culture of safety and wellbeing.
    • Supervise a staff of technicians and meter shop test technicians.


Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of experience managing multiple teams of technicians in a manufacturing environment
    • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Diploma or equivalent experience
    • Professional Engineer, or Certified Electrical Technologist designation, or equivalent certification
    • Strong knowledge of fundamental principles of legal metrology and underlying theory of measurement
    • Demonstrated ability to balance a high volume of work and multiple priorities
    • Ability to continuously conduct tasks requiring high degree of concentration and precision in isolated environment
    • Ability to drive change and strong leadership skills
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to convey specialized technical information with regulatory bodies
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
    • Technical aptitude and familiarity
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Detail-oriented and customer focused
    • Enjoy problem solving


Assets:
    • 3-5 years of experience managing a utility meter lab, and equivalent of field metering experience or equivalent
    • Working knowledge of Measurement Canada legislation and regulations to deal with operating issues
    • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 or other ERP system
    • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as Python
