Responsibilities

The Manager, Cardiovascular Services directs clinical care and managerial administrative duties. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and improving invasive and non-invasive cardiology services for inpatient and outpatient populations. The Manager, Cardiovascular Services will assist the Director in preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and capital reports as related to invasive and non-Invasive cardiology. This position oversees the education requirements for all clinical staff and is responsible for meeting accreditation and licensure requirements for the department and licensed staff members. Manages daily operations and activities of the Cath labs and/or interventional vascular labs, as well as non-invasive departments. Assists and directs staff to perform their duties efficiently and productively with patient satisfaction the number one priority. Performs staff evaluations, coaching and counseling sessions and assess and maintain competency of staff as related to job descriptions. Promotes a supportive environment that encourages teamwork. Assists the Director with planning, management of department and evaluation and purchase of capital equipment. Maintains supply level, to oversee supplies/resources are available for staff to function and to assume the role of assuring the most cost-effective product is being used.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Ongoing technical review, oversight, and implementation for quality measure for all clinical studies. Provides oversight and coordination of staff and physicians in addressing needs and concerns and providing feedback to leadership as appropriate. Maintains system wide compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Review of report and image quality and assurance meeting IAC Vascular, IAC Echocardiology, EKG, and ACC, CAD and NCDR Accreditation standards and guidelines for Cath Lab.
  • Develops a strategic directional course for the departments, which coincides with Norton Healthcare's overall strategic plan, as well as new applications and systems essential to
    business directions. Facilitates the development and delivery of excellence in service practice by evaluating and coordinating the services delivered.
  • Manages staff to perform their job functions efficiently, which includes overseeing daily staffing for efficient care, hiring new employees, conducting annual performance evaluations and coaching as needed. Supervises technical education and training to include annual competencies, training and orientation of new staff and ongoing education/training as needed. Performs the overall administrative and clinical direction and management of departments.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to direct the services appropriate for patient/family population being served. Integrates department services with the hospital's primary functions.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Three years experience in a cardiovascular patient care setting
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Registered Nurse (KY)

Desired:
  • One year management experience; cath lab experience
  • Master Degree
