Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the Manager, Classified Personnel plans and supervises school district classified personnel services in support of the District's mission.

- Provide leadership to classified personnel that delivers on the unique needs of a socio-economically, culturally, ethnically, racially and linguistically diverse student population.
- Work with district and site level teams to develop articulated strategies and plans to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional prevention and intervention and implementing practices that ensure equitable outcomes so all students can achieve College and Career Readiness across K-12.
- Supervise the recruitment for classified staff including management positions with a focus on maintaining a diverse workforce.
- Prepare job announcements for classified staff including classified management positions, in an effort to attract diversity among our classified and classified management positions.
- Supervise the review of classified applications and establish qualified applicant pools for interviews, ensuring that the hiring process is fair and impartial.
- Participate in interview panels for classified and classified staff as determined by the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources and ensure those panels have a diverse representation of people.
Accountability
- Support Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to assigned activities.
- Responsible for supervision and evaluation of employees.
- Establish and maintain the district's classified and management personnel records.
- Prepare offers of employment for classified and management personnel.
- Establish salary placement and verify the training and the experience of new classified employees.
- Plan, conduct, or arrange for professional learning for classified staffing including new employee orientations.
- Assure all employee status changes are accurate and submitted to the Payroll Department in a timely manner and ensures that the Payroll Department is properly notified.
- Establish and maintain current records of all classified personnel, including professional growth, training certifications, and ESSA certification.
- Maintain classified employee seniority lists.
- Assist in preparing budget information for Fiscal Department.
- Authorize staffing through position control system.

- Build capacity with staff, to celebrate and sustain the diverse student populations we serve.
- Participate in collective bargaining, along with the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources.
- Prepare materials for employer-employee relations and interprets the employee agreement.
Culture and Climate
- Establish and maintain the district's classified and management personnel records.
- Oversees Workers' Compensation claims and maintains status of those receiving compensation.
- Determine and adjust salary placement of personnel in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide information to employees regarding such matters as leaves, illness, vacation, benefits and retirement.
- Counsel employees, supervisors, and management.
- Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, provide information and counsel employees, supervisors, and managers regarding such matters as leave benefits, retirement, performance evaluations, and discipline.
- Conduct research for Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources in matters concerning budget, staffing and collective bargaining.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences.
Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Prior background and experience as a site administrator is highly desired.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Desire for second language proficiency in Spanish or other language to match community needs.
