Job Description
Job Title: Manager Clinical Services
Job Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour day shifts, variable from 7 AM to 3 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Three years in the same or similar clinical specialty with two years in a charge nurse/leadership role or equivalent position
License: RN License Required
Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Current Arrhythmia Certification
Must-Have: Registered Nurse with Cath Lab experience

Job Description:

- Responsible for organizing, planning, leading, and directing clinical and management activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Accountable for daily operations and oversight of nursing practice and patient care delivery.
- Participates as a member of the healthcare team in maintaining continuity and quality of patient care.
- Contributes to organizational operations and supports the mission by fostering interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
- Manages and evaluates clinical operations, programs, and resources to assure safe and appropriate delivery of diagnostic and/or therapeutic patient care.
- Ensures activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner and in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new clinical systems/programs to enhance services and raise the standard of care.
- Ensures documentation of work unit activities, productivity, and quality indicators according to guidelines.
- Oversees resolution of daily clinical administrative and operational issues.
- Monitors service recovery and other escalated concerns, resolving them within the defined scope of responsibility.
- Acts as a liaison between cardiology and interventional radiology physicians and staff, fostering positive interpersonal communications.
- Communicates significant information to the Unit Director and others in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Utilizes the nursing process to direct patient care through assessment, data analysis, plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Supports staff as a resource person for procedures and treatments, and may occasionally take vacant call shifts.
- Plans, manages, and evaluates the work of clinical and administrative staff in compliance with internal/external regulations and standards.
- Ensures employees are qualified and properly trained, holding regular staff meetings and maintaining open communication.
- Makes employment decisions, establishes performance standards, and evaluates employee performance.
- Educates, guides, counsels, and develops staff while addressing performance management concerns and technical issues.
- Knowledgeable in principles, practices, standards, and protocols of nursing, with skills in strategic planning, financial and statistical analysis, and managed care reimbursement.
- Maintains flexibility, cooperation, and participates in cross-organizational performance improvement activities.
