About the Role:
The Commercialization Manager will be a key driver of innovation and accelerated product delivery for AMETEK Power Instruments. This role will lead and manage development and ideation projects, from concept to launch, ensuring they align with market needs and business objectives within the power instruments domain. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven record of successfully bringing new technical products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, lead and manage the entire commercialization process:Oversee all stages of product development for power instruments, from ideation and concept validation (including feasibility studies and technical risk assessments) to design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and launch.
- Drive innovation:Create a culture of creativity and innovation within the power instruments group, encouraging new ideas and approaches to power electronics, measurement, and control.
- Market analysis and customer understanding:Identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities while developing a deep understanding of target customer segments.
- Develop product roadmaps:Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, sales & product management) to define product strategy, develop product roadmaps for power instruments, and prioritize projects based on technical feasibility, market potential, and business impact.
- Project management:Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, specifically for complex technical projects.
- Cross-functional collaboration:Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of product development and launch plans for power instruments.
- Product launch execution:Develop and execute successful product launch plans, including technical documentation, application notes, and sales training, specifically targeting the power instruments customer base utilizing key product managers..
- Performance monitoring and analysis:Track KPIs and analyze product performance post-launch, including technical performance metrics and customer feedback, specifically within the power instruments context.
- Voice of Customer (VOC) Integration:Actively solicit and incorporate customer feedback from power instrument users throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Intellectual Property Management:Contribute to IP strategies related to new power instrument development, including patent applications and competitive analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science; MBA or Master's degree preferred.`
- Proven experience in product commercialization, product management, or a related role within a technical industry, ideally related to power electronics, instrumentation, or test equipment.
- Strong understanding of product development processes and methodologies, particularly for complex technical products.
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to deliver results on time and within budget, especially for engineering-heavy projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a technical aptitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team, including engineers and technical specialists.

Up to 25% - 50% travel may be required away from our Rochester Facility.
