POSITION SUMMARYThe Manager, Corporate Finance oversees the daily operations of both the regulated and unregulated entities and ensures that they are financially compliant. This position is a 12-month contract role with the opportunity for an extension up to 18-months.
As a member of the Corporate Finance Team, the incumbent focuses on maintaining the corporate books and records for Milton Hydro's Group of Companies. The incumbent supports a 'whole of organization' approach by putting sufficient focus on: predicting & responding to customer needs; building an engaged employee culture; and, continually seeking better solutions through productivity, technology & innovation.
The incumbent acts as a business partner to functional business units and supports financial operations to ensure a sound understanding of financial performance and ensure appropriate fiscal responsibility of business leaders. The incumbent ensures compliance with corporate and financial policies, procedures, standards and regulations. The incumbent should have a strong understanding of multi-entity organization structures, understand financial reporting principles, financial planning and analysis, corporate tax, and treasury.

KEY DUTIES
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Accounting department and ensure all activities are completed accurately and consistent with timelines.
- Manage the budget process and create templates and reports to ensure appropriate consolidation and review of budgets.
- Review monthly financials for all corporate entities and manage the finance team to deliver variance analyses to budget and provide rationale for variances.
- Manager the process to develop and consolidate budgets provided by business units and complete required forecasting for financial reporting.
- Manager the accounting processes within the Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") system.
- Maintain the general ledger, complete reconciliations, and ensure accounts are set up in accordance with OEB requirements.
- Manage and approve all accounts payable and accounts receivable and post monthly journal entries.
- Manage and post daily cash receipts, monthly accruals and inventory transactions.
- Communicate and collaborate with department leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting and reports.
- Liaise with third-party auditors and provide required documentation to ensure the swift closure of auding activities.
- Provide people leadership and direction through coaching, development, performance management and resource planning.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrates flexibility and strong teamwork as well as professional and positive attitude

- Ability to prepare and administer budgets and prepare detailed analyses and reports
- Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve and solution issues with both systems and processes
- Demonstrates skills in developing and managing financial models, databases and SQL queries
- Is comfortable working in a highly fast-paced environment and can manage multiple competing deadlines
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of rules and regulations within the distribution and retailing of electricity
- Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting including consolidations, setting up controls and procedures
- Managing finance modules within enterprise systems as well as the maintenance of basic data requirements to ensure financial stability
- Intermediate knowledge of IFRS and regulatory accounting
- Intermediate knowledge of OH&SA requirements as it relates to employees/public, the organization and operational requirements
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION POSITIONS SUPERVISED
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)
- 6+ years' experience in a management position within a Regulatory or Corporate Finance department
