Manager, Data Engineering F/T

Overview
Manage the process of data delivery on teams by overseeing other Data Engineers and Analysts to deliver on-time, accurate, high-value, robust data solutions across multiple clients, solutions, and industry sectors.

Role
Oversee the execution of data projects through design, implementation, automation, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise data and data movement (ETL) processes for a global client base.
Enhance big data pipelines using Python, R, SSIS and PowerShell to address complex technical challenges and seamless communication with several cloud storage technologies.
Leverage new SQL Server features such as Column store Indexes, In-Memory OLTP, Incremental statistics, Trace Flags, SQL CLR functions, window aggregate functions, and parallel computing algorithms to reduce the processing time of multi-billion row data sets.
Play a lead role and oversee the activities of Data Engineers and ensure the efficient execution of their duties.
Effectively manage projects by leading efforts such as setting team goals, sprint planning, workplan scoping and assignment, and retrospectives.
Lead large-scale efforts to improve the automation capabilities of the team.
Identify and implement techniques to optimize and routinize repeatable tasks for Test & Learn and other D&S data setups. Collaborate with other teams to further data automation capabilities.
Act as an expert data and technical resource within the team and region and provide mentorship and guidance to multiple teams and product areas.
Act as an advisor/mentor and assist in managing careers for junior team members.
This position manages a team of approximately 8-10 employees. They will generally be a mixture of Data Engineer I's, Data Engineer II's, and Senior Data Engineers.

About You
Position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in, in Information Industrial Engineering, Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or related and three (3) years of experience in job offered or as a Platform Engineer, System Engineer related.
Qualifying experience must include at least three (3) years with each of the following: Managing projects, people, and tasks across multiple geographies and business units; RDBMS technologies, including with Microsoft SQL Server, the SSIS Stack and .Net; Powershell, Python; Oversight, validation and quality control to own and team work product; Move between business, data management, and technical teams; Database Management, Microsoft SQL Server; SSIS Stack; Net-Proficiency (C/C#);UNIX Powershell; Python/R;ETL Processing: Building efficient data pipelines; Data Engineering; Distributed Computing; Process Optimization; SQL.
Rate of pay: $ 196,040 - $ 254,000

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Pay Ranges
Arlington, Virginia: $159,000 - $254,000 USD
