- Confident communicator who is able to explain technical terms to non-technical audiences and mentor junior colleagues
- Demonstratable end-to-end experience in Data Engineering, including large-scale projects
- Experience turning business use cases into technical solutions and experience in business process mapping for data and analytics solutions
- Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DW, and Azure SQ, experience with Git/TFS/VSTS and mastery of .NET C# and T-SQL; familiarity with U-SQL
- Demonstrable end-to-end experience in Data Engineering, strong team collaboration skills, experience working with remote teams and experience leading large development teams and large-scale projects

Characteristics that can spell success for this role
- You are either a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada or a United States citizen
- You have a MINIMUM of 10 years of consecutive residency in Canada AND you either already have Secret Security Clearance or are your are eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance
- You reside in Ottawa and are able to commute to Ottawa based client locations
- Analytical, curious, agile, you are a team player and good communicator
- Problem-solver, patient, quality-driven
- Self-motivating, with an innovative mindset

- Analyze current business practices and identify future opportunities
- Support data design services and perform needs assessments
- Deliver architectures for data transformations and modernizations
- Design and build data pipelines, streams, and service APIs
- Develop and maintain data warehouse schematics and databases
- Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes
