The target hiring range for this position is $127,500-$138,750.

Position Summary:

As the Manager, Data Governance you will be responsible for leading the Nightingale's data governance strategy, ensuring that data assets are managed effectively, consistently, and securely. The role will oversee the establishment of policies, processes, and controls to ensure high-quality data that is compliant with internal and external regulations. This position will collaborate with business data analysts, analytics engineers, data engineers, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of data throughout its lifecycle.

This role requires significant expertise in both data management and business operations to align data initiatives with long-term organizational goals.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework: Establish and maintain the organization's data governance policies, standards, and guidelines in collaboration with business and IT teams to support data management goals.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Define and monitor key data quality metrics (e.g., accuracy, consistency, completeness) and lead initiatives to resolve data issues and improve overall data quality.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all data handling, storage, and usage adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Data Stewardship: Oversee the activities of data stewards across the organization, guiding them in the application of data governance principles, best practices, and the consistent use of data.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): Collaborate with analytics and data engineering to establish and manage master data management programs, ensuring the availability of accurate and consistent master data across business units.
  • Metadata Management: Oversee the management of metadata, data dictionaries, and data catalogs, ensuring that data assets are easily discoverable, well-documented, and available to business users.
  • Data Privacy and Security: Work closely with the IT and Security teams to define and enforce data security and privacy policies, ensuring sensitive data is protected and access controls are properly enforced.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between data governance initiatives and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and driving the adoption of data governance principles.
  • Training and Education: Promote a culture of data governance across the organization by providing training and educational resources to business users and stakeholders on data policies, compliance, and best practices.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced certifications in data governance or data management (CDMP, CBIP, DAMA, DGSP) are a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related field. Proven track record in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and programs. Experience with data quality management, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Sigma or similar data analysis and visualization tools. Strong knowledge of data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation). Expertise in data modeling, and data management practices
