Manager, Detailing

Impact XM is currently seeking an experienced tradeshow exhibit CAD Detailer Manager to join our team in Oakville, ON.

The Detailer Manager will work closely with Detailers within IXM Fulfillment Centers, Freelance Detailers, Project Management and Global Sales to complete Computer Aided Drawings (CAD) & Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for all required Creative Concepts. The Detailer Manager will develop collaborative relationships with Impact XM Global Fulfillment Departments to ensure that projects are accurately, efficiently and effectively fulfilled.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to Global Impact XM policies and procedures accurately and efficiently
• Effectively manage, train, mentor and direct the work of Global CAD Detailers
• Collaborating with Global Sales, Project Management, 3D Designers, CNC Operators, Shop Managers to develop production drawings and specification details for required Creative Concept
• Attend & contribute to IXM Global Fulfillment weekly meetings
• Attend & participate in Project Launch meetings to ensure alignment on project scope, next steps
• Work directly with IXM personnel to resolve and clarify drawing questions
• Develop standard policies & procedures to strive to improve the effectiveness of the Global Detailing process
• Project Scheduling, Budgeting, Resources/Staff Allocation and Planning
• Supervise, train and direct the work of CAD Detailers to produce complete production documents and CNC production files in AutoCAD software
• Ability to work in collaboration with the detailing and design team to complete a full range of assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
• Work creatively, perform self-directed product research, and provide workable solutions to highly imaginative design challenges with minimal supervision.
• Provide constructive feedback to other Fulfillment Department Management of their team members to help improve their performance and acknowledge accomplishments
• Continually aid in the alignment of all production facilities, materials, components and fabrication techniques
• Align software for all IXM Fulfillment Centers
• Understanding of basic time reporting and review
• Experience of departmental financial report review and accountability

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team with:

• 4-5 years of experience as a production detailer required.
• 4-5 years of working experience with Adobe suite of programs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software in 3D environment required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Able to assertively present creative and functional ideas for projects.
• Innovative, creative problem solving skills.
• Possess advanced computer skills with proficiency in a PC environment.
• Demonstrated aptitude for Design and Structural Mechanics.
• Display excellence in knowledge of production materials and the extent to which these may be utilized in exhibit production.
• Able to read and discern information from production schematics.
• Able to design and create detail drawings with production in mind.
• Able to effectively explain and present finished work to Impact XM sales, creative, production and I&D departments.
• Highly disciplined, able and willing to follow a well-organized time management system and possess multi-tasking ability.
• Experience programming a CNC machine through CAM software is an asset.

Education and/or Experience

Trade School or an Associate's Degree in related field, BS in Engineering or Technology preferred; or four to five + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
