POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring that safe age-appropriate patient care is provided during hours of unit operation. Functions as role model, advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team. Essential Functions:
Clinical Management: Provides overall direction for and coordination of unit operations needs. Demonstrates proficiency in clinical/ ethical/ legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. Develops and sets strategic target plans for unit outcomes and specific customer service goals. Displays an awareness of, performs all duties in accordance with, and supports the hospital's divisional and departmental mission and vision statement. Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork in order to promote a unified and spirited workplace. Promotes cooperative behaviors and effectively collaborates interdepartmentally with members of the health care team. Plans, conducts and documents departmental meetings focused on departmental and employee issues and provided information regarding organizational direction. Demonstrates and maintains basic clinical skills as required by specialty area.
Fiscal Management: Manages and prepares operational/capital budgets to provide needed resources (physical and fiscal) in accordance with patient needs, established care standards, and within guidelines. In collaboration with Patient care Director of service line, develops realistic operational and capital budget based on financial projections and organizational priorities. Identifies and analyzes budget variances and other management information and formulates corrective action plans. Monitors productivity on a regular basis and provides appropriate levels of human resources to meet patient care needs. Educates staff about allocation and use of fiscal and physical resources and monitors performance against plan.
Growth/Development: Participates in activities that ensure and enhance knowledge and skills. Adheres to service Excellence principles Attends all mandatory in-services in person and/or Healthstream. Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork. Identifies needs to initiate new ideas. Seeks outside training to enhance knowledge and skills.
Customer Service: Ensures that all customers receive exemplary service. Demonstrates knowledge of and behaviors consistent with standards of conduct and code of excellence, acts in a way that shows sensitivity, confidentiality, integrity and respect for diversity. Demonstrates empathy and understanding of patient/customer concerns by listening carefully and responding appropriately. Exceeds patient/customer needs by anticipating, identifying and responding to such needs promptly and in a caring and courteous manner. Portrays a positive organizational image through adherence to the dress code and maintaining a clean work environment. Works at maintaining a good rapport and appropriate interdepartmental relationships with all patient care personnel, promotes a spirit of cooperation through frequent communication.
Communication: Communicates relevant and pertinent information to the department and throughout the facility, to ensure optimal patient care and that staff are aware of new initiatives and issues as they arise. Participates in management, staff and other meetings as needed. Promptly reports dangerous or urgent situations to Director or appropriate department head. Serves as a patient/customer advocate when needed. Strives to promote a positive workplace. Utilizes appropriate negotiation and communication strategies to mediate and resolve conflicts among employees and/or customers Provides and seeks out networking and educational opportunities within facility and the community for purposes of learning new information, educating and promoting Radiology Services

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- Experience: 5-7 years
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Maryland State License
