Job Description

As a Digital Sports Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for strategically managing the Digital Sports media inventory to ensure maximum revenue and value in our sports programming.

You will work cross-functionally with sales, ad ops, planning, site leaders, research, and programing, and will be responsible for overseeing the ad inventory forecasting, live-event monetization, inventory reporting, RFP support, and day to day management of the Sports Digital Inventory Team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee monetization and yield of digital media inventory across Peacock and NBCSports digital properties - Sports include NFL, Golf, NBA, B1G & ND Football, College Basketball, NASCAR, Premier League, US Soccer, Chivas, as well as other Tentpole Sports (Olympics, World Cup, etc).
  • Own creation and distribution of key inventory reports including forecasting based on historical trends, and capacity management including projected risk and impact of system setting changes
  • Take initiative on next steps and delegate as needed to your direct reports
  • Make sure we fill our live events each week and troubleshoot any issues
  • Present reporting and data in a clear and accurate manner to management during weekly meetings
  • Manage staff of 1-3 Inventory Analysts who review and advise on avails for RFPs and revisions
  • Collaborate with team on overall sales strategy to achieve budget by evaluating and implementing new inventory management tools, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor and recommend appropriate inventory levels for new sponsorship packages, new partnerships, and events
  • Liaise with numerous internal departments such as: Planning, Sales, Operations, Programming, Distribution, Products, Research, Data Insights and Marketing
  • Maintain oversight of digital ad product catalogue. Recommend changes/updates and create new ad products as needed


Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ad-serving systems (Hubble, Freewheel, Operative One or other OMS)
  • High proficiency in advanced Excel functionality (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years' experience in online media with specific experience in inventory, planning, operations, and/or yield management

Desired Characteristics
  • Strong knowledge of the media business; Digital Media experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success working on developing business initiatives or emerging departments
  • Well organized and good attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to perform independently and proactively while working in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills especially in Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ad Serving software and tracking knowledge a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • A strong ability to perform independently and proactively while working in a team environment

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000 + sales incentive commission eligible
