The manager will lead the security team, coordinate with external agencies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Job Requirements
Education
Required
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or related fields
Desired
Master's degree in the field of emergency management, public administration, and/or homeland security
Graduate of the National Emergency Management Basic Academy (NEMBA), National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (NEMAA), and or completed full curriculum of the Emergency Management Professional Program (EMPP)
Experience
Required
Five years of progressively responsible experience in the Emergency Management, disaster preparedness, and security
Ability to follow complicated oral and written instructions; to evaluate problems and take necessary courses of action leading to workable solutions
Desired
Familiarity with water/wastewater industry and processes
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments
Experience in facility security procedures
Demonstrated ability to speak in public, communicate orally, and with strong writing skills
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
Valid driver's license from state of residence
Must be currently authorized to work for any U.S. employer
Associate Emergency Manger (AEM), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
Within three months of appointment to the position, must obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) Clearance, FEMA Emergency Management Professional Program (EMPP) Certifications
Within twelve months of appointment to the position, must obtain the following training certifications: FEMA ICS 100 FEMA ICS 700 FEMA ICS 800 FEMA Professional Development Series Certificate (PDS) FEMA Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation (HSEEP)
