Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Employee Relations and Investigations, to join our HR team. This role is pivotal in advising managers and employees on complex workplace issues, conducting thorough investigations, and developing strategies to enhance employee relations across the organization. As a trusted subject matter expert (SME) in employee relations, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with employment laws, mitigating risks, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations Expertise
    • Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees on complex employee relations issues, including performance management, workplace conflict, and policy interpretation.
    • Serve as a strategic partner to leadership by offering solutions for improving employee engagement, team dynamics, and workplace culture.
    • Actively contribute to creating a positive organizational climate by addressing employee concerns and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Workplace Investigations
    • Lead high-level investigations into employee complaints, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other policy violations.
    • Gather evidence, conduct interviews, analyze findings, and prepare detailed investigative reports with actionable recommendations for resolution.
    • Ensure investigations are conducted fairly, impartially, and confidentially, while mitigating organizational risks and ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Policy and Compliance
    • Ensure consistent application and interpretation of company policies and procedures across departments and geographies.
    • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, as well as company policies and regulations.
    • Partner with legal counsel and senior HR leadership to address and resolve high-risk or escalated issues.
  • Performance and Conduct Management
    • Provide guidance on complex performance issues, including progressive discipline, terminations, and employee development plans.
    • Support managers in handling sensitive employee situations, such as accommodations, grievances, and workplace disputes.
    • Collaborate with managers to implement and monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and assess their progress.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention
    • Analyze employee relations trends, including turnover, absenteeism, and grievance patterns, and recommend strategies to address these challenges.
    • Support HR leadership in developing and implementing initiatives to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and overall engagement.
    • Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, and transparency across the organization.
  • Training and Development
    • Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, workplace behavior, and legal compliance.
    • Educate teams on company policies and respectful workplace practices.
    • Provide ongoing development to managers in best practices for handling employee relations issues.
  • Reporting and Metrics
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases, investigations, and resolutions.
    • Prepare detailed reports and metrics on employee relations trends, offering actionable insights to HR leadership.
    • Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies by identifying organizational vulnerabilities and recommending proactive solutions.

    Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is highly preferred.
    • Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, or HRBP roles with a focus on employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
    • Proven experience conducting complex workplace investigations and handling high-risk or sensitive employee relations issues.
    • Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including global (EMEA & APAC) employment law.
    • Skills:
      • Expertise in managing high-risk workplace investigations and complex employee relations matters.
      • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
      • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach at all organizational levels.
      • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and develop proactive solutions.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

    Work Environment:

    This role may require occasional travel to various company locations depending on the needs of the business.
