Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Manager 3 for the Baltimore, MD campus Calibration lab. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, effective communicator, technically proficient in the field of calibration, possesses a solid understanding of financial management, has experience working with both represented and non-represented union employees, and has expertise in process improvement methodologies.

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $201,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Manager 3 for the Baltimore, MD campus Calibration lab. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, effective communicator, technically proficient in the field of calibration, possesses a solid understanding of financial management, has experience working with both represented and non-represented union employees, and has expertise in process improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Act as the key contact for senior leadership concerning Calibration and Metrology, showcasing strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to be both strategic and tactical in planning and execution.
- Calibration Oversight: Own and manage the Mission Systems Calibration process, ensuring compliance with ISO/AS9100 standards and best practices. Demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented mindset to handle challenges effectively.
- Management: Lead and provide technical guidance to the Calibration Product and Service Organization. Lead an adjudication of customer complaint. Exhibit excellent communication skills to convey technical guidance clearly.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets related to calibration services, monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective operations, and maintain financial targets. Utilize financial data to drive improvements and achieve business objectives.
- Collaboration: Work with Operations, Engineering, and other business functions requiring calibration and asset tracking support. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment to achieve common goals.
- Operational Excellence: Apply job skills and company policies to complete complex tasks; oversee measurement processes, methods, and procedures for calibration of inspection, measurement, and test equipment to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure quality. Implement strategies to streamline operations and achieve exemplary standards of service.
- Compliance: Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with ISO17025-2015, ANSI Z540.1, and ANSI Z540.3 standards. Demonstrate a proactive approach to stay updated with standards.
- Database Management: Provide oversight and manage Sure Cal as well as TEAMMS Calibration database. Be detail-oriented to ensure accurate and effective database management.
- Union Relations: Engage and manage interactions with both represented (union) and non-represented employees, ensuring effective communication, conflict resolution, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Process Improvement: Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in calibration processes, enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve the overall quality of services. Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities to address process inefficiencies.
- Service Organization Management: Demonstrate experience in managing a service organization with multiple priorities, ensuring effective allocation of resources and balancing competing demands efficiently.
Basic Qualifications for Manager Engineering Science Support 3:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related experience, or a master's degree with 6+ years of related experience.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams.
- Proficient in budget management, financial planning, analysis, and maintaining financial targets.
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9000 Quality Systems, Root Cause/Corrective Action methodologies, and Risk assessment. Experience with ISO17025-2015, ANSI Z540.1, and ANSI Z540.3 guidelines.
- US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with represented (union) and non-represented employees, including experience with union contracts, labor relations, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in Metrology and Aerospace Manufacturing.
- Proven track record with AS9100/ISO9000 Quality Systems, including Root Cause/Corrective Action methodologies and Risk Assessment techniques.
- Experience and practical application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
