Job Summary

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the Rehab and Maintenance engineering team. This team builds and supports applications and systems that are used by our maintenance associates at Invitation Homes.

This position is a mix of hands-on-keyboard development, process engineering, and management responsibilities with a strong emphasis on technical leadership.

You are someone that has demonstrated progressive experience in coding, architecture leadership, and leading engineers in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design on a cross-functional team to plan, develop and deliver key initiatives that help us grow and scale our business.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions with focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability
  • Lead team of developers and make recommendations on future technical architecture for software, platform, integrations and tools
  • Work collaboratively to help define and execute team roadmaps
  • Writes documentation for technical and integration architectures
  • Measure and evaluate features and system metrics to continuously improve user experience and service performance
  • Responsible for growing and inspiring a team of engineers through a combination of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Work closely with Product and Platform Owners, Quality Assurance, and other teams in an agile environment to build, deploy, and maintain software systems
  • Cultivate a healthy, collaborative engineering culture that's in line with our values.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of professional development experience, and 2+ years of recent experience managing an engineering team
  • Experience working in agile development environment
  • Deep understanding of software and development engineering principles and concepts
  • Hands-on experience working on the Salesforce platform using low-code and custom-coded solutions
  • Hands-on experience working on mobile application development using React Native
  • Deep technical skills in one or more high-level software development languages and platforms: JavaScript, Java, Node.js, React, AWS

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is: $118,800.00 - $205,920.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
