Position Summary
The Manager EPIC EHR Software Configuration is responsible for the overall configuration, support, and operations operations of Epic or Ancillary Clinical applications within their sphere of responsibility. Works closely with key stakeholders to oversees team activities by ensuring work is on track and adheres to defined timelines, budgets, identifying, escalating and resolving associated risks and ensuring overall design delivers the necessary solution that meets end user needs. They will provide product management, support and guidance through the Epic software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis and design. This position manages a team of individuals. The Manager EPIC EHR Software Configuration distinguishes themselves from other managers by possessing knowledge of and working with Epic specific software applications.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops WashU Medicine and BJC IT organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for software configuration design, deployment and refactoring.
  • Leads WashU Medicine and BJC Technology teams of operational professionals responsible for overseeing application system availability, performance, and enhancements. Assembles BJC Technology project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Promotes a culture of quality throughout the organization and drives adoption of and adherence to testing policies and standards. Plans and leads testing activities for software applications. Leads activities to manage risks and opportunities associated with testing and change. Assembles test plans, tests scenarios, and performs quality testing reviews.
  • Champions high standards in user interaction with the organization's systems, products and services including involvement of users in workflow/configuration evaluation activities. Works collaboratively with various constituency groups, team members, and leadership to iteratively review user experience. Leads team members to gather feedback surrounding the software configuration, reviews application configuration options with constituency groups, and acts upon feedback provided by end-users.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Salary Range
$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
