Responsible for ensuring the timely, proper and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with SEC and US GAAP disclosure requirements and assessing and accounting for technical accounting matters and transactions for review by the Director of Financial Reporting.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Research, document, and implement new accounting pronouncements, as well as technical accounting issues presented by the business, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Preparation of all SEC reporting and other internal reporting requirements associated with externally delivered financial information (including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K)
- Partners closely with Investor Relations and Legal teams to ensure alignment on external financial reporting and messaging and assist in preparation of quarterly earnings materials
- Ownership of accuracy of external filings and compliance with all regulations around external reporting, including developing/maintaining internal controls around external reporting to ensure compliance with SOX standards and compliance with XBRL
- Ensures compliance with debt covenants
- Works with external and internal auditors to ensure transparency and accuracy in preparation of all external filings and internal
- Evaluates the impact of new accounting standards and SEC regulations on business and required disclosures
- Prepares reporting for presentation to senior management
- Participates in and/or leads special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
- Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education and related training.
- CPA required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in combination of large public accounting firm with SEC clients and/or private industry with SEC responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of GAAP and SEC regulations related to business practice.
- Experience in SEC reporting and/or XBRL.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills (detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, organized, etc.)
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills including executive presentation skills.
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and solve complex problems.
- Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
- Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
